6 Things Your Cat Wants To Know Right Meow

January 15, 2019

Did you know that there’s a very big kitty holiday around the corner? January 22nd is Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day! We all know that kitties are very curious and inquisitive. (Okay, they’re actually downright nosy, but that’s beside the point.) If your pet could voice her top questions, what do you think she’d want to know? A Brampton, ON vet offers some suggestions below.

Why Don’t You Let Me Go Out?

Some cats are furry little explorers, who love to get outside, soak up some sun, and indulge in outdoor kitty sports, like making paw art on your car. However, outdoor cats are exposed to some very serious dangers, such as predators, chemicals, cars, and weather. Fluffy may not quite understand that, though. For more insights into why it’s beneficial to keep your cat indoors and how to ensure they’re happy, check out our article on Keeping Your Cat Indoors.

Why Can’t I Play With That?

As far as our feline friends are concerned, anything small enough to bat at or pounce on is a worthy adversary. Your kitty’s playful streak is certainly cute, but it can also get her into trouble. However, Fluffy won’t understand that you took that safety pin away because it wasn’t safe for her to play with.

Where Did My Toys Go?

Toys are great for cats: they keep cats entertained, allow them to burn off excess energy, and prevent kitty boredom. However, most of our feline patients have a habit of batting their playthings under chairs or sofas.

What Are You Doing?

As mentioned above, kitties can be, well, rather nosy. Your inquisitive little furball will keep a close eye on you. She may even try to follow you into the bathroom!

Why Do You Leave?

It’s probably safe to say that, given the option, most kitties would prefer that their humans stay home 24/7 and provide them with endless cuddles, lap space, and playtime. Unfortunately, we have to work to earn money for cat food and toys. Make your pet’s alone time fun by offering her plenty of playthings and a comfy window seat. Keeping a light and radio on for Fluffy will also help.

Why Do I Have To Go To The Vet?

Proper veterinary care will help keep your feline buddy looking and feeling good. However, most of our furry patients don’t quite see it that way!
