Cat Day is coming up on August 8th. Our feline overlords definitely deserve to be celebrated! Kitties have a special way of bringing love and light into our homes, and brighten our days with their snuggles, purrs, and curious antics. They’re also pretty darned cute! If you’re looking for more ways to celebrate your feline friend, check out our article on Cat Lovers Month for additional ideas. Here, a Brampton, ON vet offers some pawesome suggestions on how to get that little motor going.
A new bed is always a great gift for Fluffy. After all, there’s a pretty good chance that your furball is sleeping right now!
You don’t have to pack every room with kitty furniture, but your feline buddy should have a few things that she doesn’t have to share. If your furball doesn’t have a cat tower, this is a purrfect time to get one. Of course, Fluffy will also be purrfectly happy with a cardboard box or paper bag.
You may have noticed that we are pretty adamant about recommending cats stay inside. However, Fluffy can still enjoy watching birds and squirrels. Get her a comfy window seat, where she can soak up some sun, watch birds and squirrels, and daydream about world domination.
Cats can be a bit finicky, but most of them do have some favorite snacks. Fluffy may enjoy some shredded deli meat or canned tuna in water.
Kitties are always cute, but they’re never more adorable than when they are enjoying the effects of some ‘nip’. You can also buy your furball catnip bubbles, which are as entertaining for you as they are for her.
One of the best things you can do for Fluffy is also one of the easiest. Take time to hold a laser pointer or wand toy for your furry buddy!
It’s almost impossible to get a bad picture of Fluffy: even if you get a blurry photo of her mid-pounce, it will still be adorable.
Although Fluffy probably wouldn’t turn her little nose up at anything on this list, at the end of the day, the thing she wants most is to just spend some time with you. Carve out some quality time with your pet, and offer her some lap space if she wants.
