Summer is finally upon us! The warm weather will go away far too soon, so we have to take advantage of it while we can. This applies to dogs, too. Our canine pals love to run and play outside when it’s nice. To ensure your pet stays safe and healthy during the warmer months, check out our Summertime Pet Care Tips. In addition, here’s a list of fun activities to put on your to-do list for the next few months.
Treat your furry friend to a fun day at the park. This is a great way to meet up with friends and family members that have dogs! It will be good for both you and Fido to get out and socialize after spending so much time in isolation last year.
If Fido hasn’t finished learning basic obedience yet, work on that. All dogs should know Sit, Stay, Come, Heel, and Lay Down. Once he’s mastered these, move on to showing him some cute tricks.
We live in a beautiful land! Take a few hours on a sunny afternoon, and go somewhere new with your four-legged friend. There are plenty of gorgeous spots to explore, both in and out of the city. Enjoy some sunshine and pretty scenery with your canine buddy.
We get more than our fair share of cold around here. However that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a yummy ice cream on a summer day. You can get some made just for your four-legged friend in a pet store or supermarket. Or, look up doggy ice cream recipes and make your own.
On a warm afternoon or evening, take your pooch outdoors and indulge him in a fun round of Fetch. If Fido isn’t much for fetching, let him play in the spray from a sprinkler.
Things are slowly opening up as more and more people get vaccinated. When it’s safe to do so, get together with some friends and family members that have friendly, well-behaved dogs, and have a puppy party. Have everyone bring a dish, potluck style, and set out lots of toys and treats for the pups.
