Sabrina Wale

Registered Veterinary Technician

Sabrina’s very first cat, Gentle, helped to set her heart on the world of animal care at a very young age. She hasn’t looked back since! Sabrina’s passion has come full-circle: she’s a Registered Veterinary Technician with the Dixie Road Pet Clinic family.

Sabrina grew up in the countryside of Ontario and is a 2003 graduate of Seneca College in King City. She served as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the emergency care world for a time before deciding to make a change—that’s when she signed on here at Dixie Road Pet Clinic. Sabrina has been a part of the hospital team since August of 2017, and brings with her a special interest in animal nutrition. She’s also fond of client education and loves to help strengthen the bond between a pet and owner by imparting her knowledge in a clear, concise way.

Sabrina lives in Shelburne with her husband, Blair, a fish tank full of about 200 guppies, and the family pet, Humphrey. When she isn’t spending quality time with her family or tending to pets’ needs here at the hospital, Sabrina likes gardening, scrapbooking, and watching movies.

Michelle Young

Client Care Specialist

Like most veterinary professionals, Michelle has adored animals ever since she was young. Her other passion, though, is customer care. For Michelle, getting to interact with both pets and their loving owners on a daily basis is a dream come true! She’s one of Dixie Road Pet Clinic’s Client Care Specialists.

Michelle is originally from Burlington, Ontario and began her animal-care career at the Calgary Zoo’s private farm. It wasn’t long before she began working at a 24-hour-a-day emergency clinic down the street from the farm, where she gained even more crucial hands-on experience in the veterinary field. After a number of years working in emergency medicine, Michelle joined the Dixie Road Pet Clinic family in 2016—her favourite parts of the job are speaking directly with clients and sneaking treats to the hospital’s visiting pets.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys dirt biking in the mud, painting, traveling (she’s lived and worked in Korea, Japan, Thailand, Europe, and all over Canada!), and spending time with her family at home. She lives with her partner, Jason, his wonderful son Kai, and several pets. They share their home with Tao, Michelle’s aging orange tabby cat; a miniature schnauzer named Dexter whose oversized personality makes up for his small size; Dallas the Olde English bulldog; and a silly bull terrier named Frankie.

Krista

Client Care Specialist

In Krista’s childhood home, there was never a time when an animal wasn’t present. She’s been passionate about pet care her entire life! The world of veterinary medicine was a natural choice for her, and she’s now a proud member of the Dixie Road Pet Clinic team.

A Brampton native, Krista first worked with animals in a pet food store before signing up at Sheridan College to study veterinary medicine. She became an Animal Care Attendant and worked in emergency medicine for a time before deciding to make a switch. That’s when she joined the Dixie Road Pet Clinic family! Krista particularly likes to meet new puppy and kitten owners and make sure their first visits to the clinic are extra-special.

Away from the office, Krista likes reading, sculpting clay, and working with computers. She has two rescued cats at home: Danix, who is the tiniest cat that Krista has ever seen; and Gabriel, who never fails to offer Krista a loving tail-twitch when she gets home from work.

Britt

Client Care Specialist

Britt has always been an empathetic and enthusiastic “people person,” and she has a strong background in customer service. Coupled with her love for animals, working at the front desk of a veterinary hospital simply made sense! Britt is a proud member of the Dixie Road Pet Clinic team and serves the area’s pets and animal parents as a Client Care Specialist.

Britt is from Brampton, Ontario and spent several years working for the city; one of her favourite parts of the job was finding stray pets during the course of her duties and returning them to the Brampton Animal Shelter! After a brief time spent serving under another contract with the city, she decided to jump headfirst into veterinary medicine—that’s when Britt signed on with the Dixie Road Pet Clinic family.

Away from the hospital, Britt enjoys teaching children—she even has a second job helping kids with their learning abilities!—and going kayaking and canoeing in the great outdoors. She’s also an avid Harry Potter fan and holds a movie marathon every year. Britt has two cats at home: the sweet and cuddly Ella, who is the least agile cat Britt has ever known and often has to be lifted by hand to the top of her cat tower; and the more independent Finn, whose favorite prank is stealing socks from the sock drawer and throwing them down the stairs.
